Supporting the Bridge

For over ten years, Kehilat Chaverim has contributed “welcome bags” to the girls who find transitional housing at The Bridge’s group home in West Hartford. The Bridge’s residential program provides a safe home for girls whose lives are in crisis, offering counseling services, basic needs, and the skills necessary to become self-sufficient.   Our members donate items such as sheets, towels, personal hygiene products, journals, pajama pants and socks, supplemented by funds from our budget and cash donations to purchase backpacks and items as needed. The Social Action Committee leads this effort to help make the girls feel more at home during a stressful transition.
